In the wake of COVID-19, Girl Scouts of
Virginia Skyline, in collaboration with Katherine L. Brown, Ph.D., an
assistant professor at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, has
created an Infectious Disease Patch Program. The overall purpose of
this patch program is to educate Girl Scouts about infectious
diseases, how they are spread, and treatment and prevention of global pandemics.
Oral
Health Action Patch Program

To earn a patch,
demonstrate that you have led three oral health projects that
change the way we think about taking care of our mouths, empower
children to change negative oral health behaviors, and remove barriers
that challenge positive oral health habits.
Relay for Life Patch

Relay
For Life is a community-based event designed to celebrate
cancer survivors and honor those who have lost their battle to the
disease. While Girl Scouts cannot participate in the fundraising
aspect of the relay, they can help out with volunteer activities
before, during, and after the event. For their participation, Girl
Scouts can earn a free patch (contact info@gsvsc.org to request patches).

Patch Program

Can
be earned by any Girl Scout troop across the US. While earning the SUN
patch, Girl Scouts of all ages can learn about how solar works,
discover solar energy at work around them, and become solar
ambassadors to help grow solar in their communities.
