OUR MOST POPULAR BACKPACKING TRIP!

Join the Adventurers for a two-night experience backpacking on the Appalachian Trail. Participants will hike through Grayson Highlands State Park, home of the famous wild ponies! We'll camp near Mt. Rogers (the highest point in Virginia)! This is a wonderful, easy introduction to backpacking for those who have never tried it before. Backpacks, tents, stoves and other equipment are provided; making this an inexpensive way to discover the joys of backpacking (and ponies!).

A mandatory in-person planning session will be held with the Adventurers before the trip. The session's time/place will be scheduled to be central to those registered. This is a beginner trip and girls will need to be able to hike about 4 miles a day while carrying 25% of their body weight over uneven terrain.

Please submit scholarship applications one week before the program's registration close date. Have questions? Reach out to this program's coordinator listed here or directly to The Adventurers: adventurers1912@gmail.com
