Discover SCUBA
THIS EVENT IS FULL
Join the Adventurers for an exciting day learning the basics of
SCUBA! This one-day course will introduce girls to the basics of
SCUBA, including basic SCUBA safety and how to use SCUBA equipment.
Girls will get in the pool with SCUBA equipment and practice
underwater breathing as well as swimming and maneuvering with SCUBA
equipment. They will participate in basic challenges and games as they
practice with the SCUBA equipment. Girls will earn their first hours
towards SCUBA certification and will receive a fun patch and Discover
SCUBA completion certificate, the first step towards becoming
SCUBA-certified.

the gear and must pass to participate)

Adventurers Scholarship
Through the generosity of donors, a scholarship fund has been
established in honor of our group’s founder, Barbara Duerk, to help
girls participate in Adventurers activities. Requests may not be more
than $100/year, and each application will be considered on a case by
case basis. Details,
criteria and application for this scholarship fund can be found
here. Please submit scholarship applications one week before the

ABOUT THE ADVENTURERS HERE
Adventurers is an
action-oriented group of older Girl Scouts who are seeking exciting
activities to challenge their capabilities, broaden their horizons,
and increase their self-confidence. It is for girls ages 11-17 and in
grades 6-12. Members often participate in rock climbing, caving,
kayaking, backpacking, travel, hiking and other similar high-adventure
