Jamestown: A Semiquincentennial Celebration Trip

Celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America by exploring the early settlements of America = Jamestown. The group will spend Saturday touring the Jamestown Settlement and Sunday exploring Historic Jamestowne  (original site). Lodging will be in bunk beds in a heated/air-conditioned building with bathrooms and showers at Girl Scout Camp Skimino  in Williamsburg. Participants will prepare all of their meals. Transportation pick-up points will be along the I-81 corridor from Roanoke north to Staunton and then east along I-64. 

NOTE: This trip is one of a 3-part travel series exploring historical sites in Virginia for the USA's 250th birthday! Next two are Williamsburg and Yorktown. 

Date: Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18
Time: first pickup in Roanoke at 3:30 PM; departing from Williamsburg at 2:00 PM with last drop-off in Roanoke at 6:30 PM. 
Location:  Jamestown, VA
Who:  Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors (11+ years or older)
Fee:  $100 for girls under 15 years old at time of event; $125 for girls 15 years+ 
Min/Max Girls:  6/8
Badge/Patch Included?:  no; girls may purchase additional Adventurers merchandise (patch, decals, bandanna, ballcap, performance t-shirts); details listed on the event registration.

Adventurers Scholarship
Through the generosity of donors, a scholarship fund has been established in honor of our group’s founder, Barbara Duerk, to help girls participate in Adventurers activities. Requests may not be more than $100/year, and each application will be considered on a case by case basis. Details, criteria and application for this scholarship fund can be found here . Adventurers is an action-oriented group of older Girl Scouts who are seeking exciting activities to challenge their capabilities, broaden their horizons, and increase their self-confidence. It is for girls ages 11-17 and in grades 6-12.
