Ensure you click on "Read more" to review all details before registering!

Backpacking Training is required before volunteers take a group of Junior, Cadette, Senior and/or Ambassador Girl Scouts on a backpacking trip. The combined courses will cover the knowledge and skills necessary to make important decisions about gear, clothing, overnight hike planning, and outdoor safety.  The objective is for participants to gain firsthand knowledge of equipment and how to use it properly in preparation for overnight backpacking in the wilderness so they may hit the trail feeling confident and self-sufficient.
