Join Lynchburg-based illustrator Stephen Kissel for our first Girl Scouts Love Comics Workshop! Girl Scouts will explore the basics of comic and graphic novel creation, including storytelling structure, character design, and simple drawing techniques to bring their ideas to life. This workshop will include a recommended list of supplies, but it is not required to participate in the program. Just bring a pencil, paper, and your imagination!
Stephen Kissel is an illustrator and cartoonist based in Lynchburg, VA. He enjoys creating a variety of illustrations, comics, and character design for clients and also works as an arts educator in the local community. When not making things, he might be found searching for the perfect bagel, buying too many books, or spending time with his wife, daughter, and pets.

Patch/Badge Included?: Yes, Comic Artist (Cadettes). A comic arts fun patch will be provided to Juniors, Seniors, and Ambassadors taking the workshop.
Registration Closes: Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 11:59PM EST
Supervision Requirements: If Girl Scout is under 13 years old age, parent and legal guardians must be present either in room or nearby while girls are on the computer.
Note: Cost of registration includes the virtual workshop and a mailed comic book art kit: the badge/patch, sticker, and a sketchbook. Recommended supplies will be provided via email before the workshop, but not required. Please make sure your mailing and/or physical address is updated so we can mail your Girl Scout's kit before the workshop!
