CANCELED: due to lack of volunteers needed for event. 

Join the VA Tech Campus Scouts at Camp Tuk-A-Way for a fun-filled day where Juniors and Cadettes Troops will have the opportunity to complete some requirements from the Outdoor Skills for Eco Trekker and Eco Camper Journey Badges. While the entire journey will not be earned during this day, girls will take part in activities that will help them develop confidence, teamwork, and outdoor skills.  Each Girl Scout needs to bring a water bottle,light backpack, a lunch, and sunscreen. Please be mindful of the weather and dress in layers and have a jacket, sweatshirt, rain jacket. Please wear sturdy secure shoes (NO SANDALS).  

 

Dates/Times:  Saturday, April 18, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Location: Camp Tuck-A-Way, Blacksburg
Girls' Ages: Junior and Cadette Troops
Cost: $25/girl and $10/adult
Badge/Patch Included?: yes, Camp-O-Ree Patch

Note: You must come as a troop, but girls register individually. A Girl Scout health history and Virginia Tech parent permission slip is required for each girl and adult volunteer. Also, each adult in attendance will need to take a youth protection training provided by Virginia Tech. 

No Electronic Devices. Cell phones can be used for emergency only.

  • health history form 
  • VT parent permission form 
  • troop first aid kit
  • may bring snacks, lunch and drinks (food must be kept in closed containers in backpacks or in the main building) 

Parking info: Back into parking lot so your car is facing out. After the scouts are settled, we will have our opening,introductions and activities.
