Join the Skyline Adventurers on this 6.4-mile out-and-back trail
considered a moderately challenging route. This trail follows the
ridgeline of North Mountain that forms the boundary between Rockbridge
and Alleghany Counties in Virginia.
Pete's Cave Trail is
a hidden gem of a hike in VA with jaw-dropping views on both sides of
the trail. There are gorgeous overlooks right at the beginning of this
hike; panoramic views of Big House and Little House Mountains. A lot
of the trail passes through areas with abundant ferns. The mid-point
is Pete's Cave where we'll stop for lunch on the boulder tops
overlooking the mountains, and then we'll explore the small caves and
tunnels all around us! You will be able to earn the Vitamin
N patch on this hike.
