Take in the beauty of one of our newest state parks—Seven
Bends State Park in Woodstock, VA. Relax down by the river while
doing a little fishing. Learn the art of fly fishing and try your hand
using different lures, reels, and techniques safely. Girls will learn
the different types of fishing, what equipment is needed, and how to
safely bait and use the fishing equipment. This fun day also includes
earning the Vitamin
N and Virginia State Park Series fun patches!

Adventurers Scholarship
Through the generosity of donors, a scholarship fund has been
established in honor of our group’s founder, Barbara Duerk, to help
girls participate in Adventurers activities. Requests may not be more
than $100/year, and each application will be considered on a case by
case basis. Details,
criteria and application for this scholarship fund can be found
here. Please submit scholarship applications one week before the

ABOUT THE ADVENTURERS HERE
Adventurers is an
action-oriented group of older Girl Scouts who are seeking exciting
activities to challenge their capabilities, broaden their horizons,
and increase their self-confidence. It is for girls age 11-17 and in
grades 6-12. Members often participate in rock climbing, caving,
kayaking, backpacking, travel, hiking and other similar high-adventure
