2025 Camp Theme: Let's Camp
Camp Dark Hollow, located at Girl Scout Camp Icimani, is a
haven for Girl Scouts looking to experience the joys of traditional
camp life. Nestled in the heart of nature, this camp provides a serene
backdrop for young girls to create memories that will last a
lifetime.
Campers at Camp Dark Hollow enjoy playing
traditional camp games. Whether it's capture the flag, scavenger
hunts, or relay races, these activities foster teamwork and
camaraderie among the girls. The laughter and excitement that fill the
air during these games create a sense of bonding and community that is
truly special.
Crafting is another favorite pastime at
Camp Dark Hollow. From friendship bracelets to nature-inspired art
projects, the girls have the opportunity to unleash their creativity
and express themselves through various arts & crafts. The pride
and satisfaction that come from creating something with their own two
hands is a truly rewarding experience for the campers.
Of
course, no camping experience would be complete without cooking over a
campfire. Whether it's roasting hot dogs and marshmallows or cooking
foil-wrapped meals in the coals, the girls at Camp Dark Hollow learn
valuable outdoor cooking skills that they can carry with them for
years to come. The smell of the wood smoke mingling with the delicious
aroma of food cooking over an open flame is a memory that many campers
cherish long after they have left camp.
ADVENTURE CARAVAN: This adventuresome camp unit is for our rising 7th-9th graders. Adventure Caravan will travel off-site for caving, canoeing, camping, hiking, and other outdoorsy activities on five of the six days at camp.

Help send girls to camp! The Rose Allen Shorty's Scholarship
Award sends 10 girls to Dark Hollow Day Camp each summer! Don't forget
to nominate a girl for the Rose
Allen "Shorty’s" I Love Dark Hollow Day Camp Scholarship
Award. Must be a troop leader or Girl Scout volunteer in order to
nominate girls. Parents or guardians may not nominate their own
campers. Deadline to nominate is MAY 1, 2025.
Summer Camp Financial Assistance
Girl Scouts of Virginia
Skyline Council awards financial assistance in increments of 25%, 50%,
and 75% of the summer camp registration fee; for one summer camp
session per year, per camper. It is the responsibility of the
caregiver to ensure the remaining camp registration fees are PAID IN
FULL by the camp registration close date. The camper must first
register for her summer camp of choice and pay the required $10
deposit before submitting this application. MORE
