Follow in the footsteps of Laura Ingalls Wilder, traveling from
Minnesota to Wisconsin and on to South Dakota. There will be stops
along the way to visit sites made famous in The Little House on the
Prairie books.
The journey will then continue
westward with stops at Badlands National Park, Mt. Rushmore, and Teddy
Roosevelt National Park. Accommodations will be rustic, sleeping in
tents, cabins, and Girl Scout camps. Meals will be simple and planned
and prepared by the patrol. The final leg of the trip will be a 7 day
wagon train trip across the prairies of North Dakota. While on the
wagon train, the group will join in camp activities such as cooking,
pitching tents, campfires, crafts, and more! Participants should have
camping experience and be physically able to walk about 10-15 miles
each day while following or riding on the wagon train.
There will be mandatory planning sessions via ZOOM and one in-person
meeting with the date to be determined by the group. During this
gathering the group will plan meals and sew their own skirts and
bonnets for the wagon train journey. MORE INFO HERE
