For one day a year only, nearly every corner of the VIMS campus is open to the public to speak to scientists and students while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the important research and advisory services VIMS provides to Virginia and beyond. Located in Gloucester Point, this fun-filled event features exhibits, kid's activities, seining in the York River, tours, seafood cooking demos, and more.

Through the generosity of donors, a scholarship fund has been established in honor of our group’s founder, Barbara Duerk, to help girls participate in Adventurers activities. Requests may not be more than $100/year, and each application will be considered on a case by case basis. Details, criteria and application for this scholarship fund can be found here. Please submit scholarship applications one week before the program's registration close date. Have questions? Reach out to this program's coordinator listed here or directly to The Adventurers: adventurers1912scholarship@gmail.com
