Have you ever wanted to visit our Nation's Capital and learn more
about our nation’s history while exploring what our sister Girl Scouts
have close to them in the Council of Nation’s Capital? If yes, this is
the trip for you! This trip is a way to earn part of the “Discover the
Nation’s Capital” patch and hang out with your sister Girl Scouts
while sightseeing. PLUS it's the holidays so most of the places we
will be visiting with be decorated in lights and decor!
Some possible spots we will visit are memorials (Vietnam Women's
Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, King Memorial), museums (Natural History,
National Air & Space, American History, National Portrait
Gallery), statues (Joan of Arc), gardens (US National Arboretum), and
more. We will lodge in bunkrooms with bunkbeds at the Rockwood
Manor in Potomac, Maryland (former National Girl Scout Camp for
40 years) which is just minutes away from the Capital Beltway and
nestled on the shores of the C&O Canal and Potomac River.
