Pack'N'Boots: Dobie Mountain

Sat Mar 04, 10:00 AM - Sun Mar 05, 2:00 PM
Ambassador, Cadette, Junior, Senior

Join us for a two-day, one-night backpacking experience at Dobie Mountain in the George Washington National Forest. Participants will hike through wooded terrain, with plentiful greenstone outcrops, past the remnants of a small plane that crashed in the 1960's, and spend the night near an Appalachian Trail shelter. Backpacks, tents, stoves, and other equipment are provided, making this an economical way to discover the joys of backpacking.

A mandatory pre-planning session will be held for any girls that have not backpacked with the Adventurers before the weekend of Feb. 25 and 26. The exact time and place will be determined once registration has closed.

Adventurers Scholarship
Through the generosity of donors, a scholarship fund has been established in honor of our group’s founder, Barbara Duerk, to help girls participate in Adventurers activities. Requests may not be more than $100/year, and each application will be considered on a case by case basis. Details, criteria and application for this scholarship fund can be found here. Please submit scholarship applications one week before the program's registration close date. Have questions? Reach out to this program's coordinator listed here or directly to The Adventurers:
