A core value of Girl Scouting is to empower girls to be leaders and
raise their voices. One of the simplest ways for girls & women to
be civically engaged in their communities is through voting. But how
much do girls understand about the voting process?
This four-week series is designed to teach Girl Scout Daisies through Ambassadors the ins-and-outs of the voting process so that when the time comes they will be prepared to be actively engaged. Participants will learn about democracy and how they can be involved in local, state, and national elections going on right now. Guest speakers will discuss the role of elected officials at the local, state, and federal level, the influence that elections and voters have over these positions, and answer questions about the election process and elected offices.
