GS 302A Backpacking Planning and GS 302B Backpacking Overnight (All-in-one Weekend)
Ensure you click on "Read more" to review all details before registering!
Backpacking Training is required before volunteers take a group of Junior Girl Scouts girls or older on a backpacking trip. The combined courses will cover the knowledge and skills necessary to make important decisions about gear, clothing, overnight hike planning, and outdoor safety. The objective is for participants to gain firsthand knowledge of equipment and how to use it properly in preparation for overnight backpacking in the wilderness so they may hit the trail feeling confident and self-sufficient.
Participants must complete both GS 302A Backpacking planning and GS 302Backpacking overnight by staying for the entire weekend from Friday to Sunday and participate in all training activities. Participants must be registered in gsEvents in order to attend this course.
