Did you know that there are many Civil War sites in our council
region? Join the Skyline Adventurers as we explore the history of the
Cedar Mountain Battlefield. This hiking tour will be led by a local
historian with knowledge of this Civil War battle site. The hike is a
2.1 miles loop trail with interpretive signs and is listed as easy.
This battlefield is a part of the Culpeper
Battlefields State Park, a new state park opened in 2024.

Adventurers Scholarship
Through the generosity of donors, a scholarship fund has been
established in honor of our group’s founder, Barbara Duerk, to help
girls participate in Adventurers activities. Requests may not be more
than $100/year, and each application will be considered on a case by
case basis. Details,
criteria and application for this scholarship fund can be found
here. Please submit scholarship applications one week before the

ABOUT THE ADVENTURERS HERE
Adventurers is an
action-oriented group of older Girl Scouts who are seeking exciting
activities to challenge their capabilities, broaden their horizons,
and increase their self-confidence. It is for girls age 11-17 and in
grades 6-12. Members often participate in rock climbing, caving,
kayaking, backpacking, travel, hiking and other similar high-adventure
