Pack'N'Boots: High Knoll
Looking to take your backpacking skills to the next level? Join us for a weeklong backpacking and high adventure experience. During the week you will backpack 35-50 miles over five days, throughout the 16,000-acre Blue Ridge Scout Reservation in Pulaski County. Each day ends in a new backcountry outpost camp where you will participate in a variety of high adventure activities. Girls will participate in a variety of activities including backpacking, camping, outdoor cooking, blacksmithing, rock climbing (climbing wall and natural face options), rappelling, frontier life (includes fire starting with flint and steel, black powder rifle shooting, hatchet throwing, history/lifestyle of early Appalachian life), carving a wooden spoon, airsoft rifle course, and challenge/C.O.P.E. games. Activities will be physically demanding, and some backpacking experience is recommended, but not required.
Backpacks, tents, stoves, and other equipment are provided.
At least one planning meeting will be required before the event. It is highly recommended that participants attend at least one of the Pack'N'Boots trips planned for the spring and early summer.

Please submit scholarship applications one week before the program's registration close date. Have questions?
