Adventurers Pack'n'Boots: Wake Up with the Wild Ponies 1 Nighter
Join us for a one-night backpacking experience starting in Grayson Highlands State Park and going up to Mount Rogers on the Applachian Trail. Participants will hike through woods and meadows with beautiful views, as well as see the famous wild ponies of Mt. Rogers. Mount Rogers is the highest point in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Participants will prepare their meals, spend the night at a back country campsite, and learn Leave No Trace camping principles and skills. This is a good trip for beginner backpackers as well as those with more experience. Backpacks, tents, stoves, and other equipment are provided; making this an economical way to discover the joys of backpacking.
A mandatory pre-planning session will be held the weekend before for any girls that have not backpacked with the Adventurers previously. Drop-off and pick-up is located at the backpackers parking lot at Grayson Highlands State Park. There is at $10 fee to get into the state park.
Participants may attend as individuals only.
