CLIMB HIGH in Virginia Skyline! It’s time to take on a mountain and summit it! This new patch program is brought to you by the Skyline Adventurers. Girls, troops, leaders and families can get outdoors and hike a local summit in their community. Virginia Skyline Council includes Mount Rogers (the highest peak in Virginia), Abney Gap, High Rock, Highland County High Point, The Pinnacle, Dragon’s Tooth, McAfee Knob, Mill Mountain, Sharp Top, Flat Top, The Priest, Humpback Rock, and Old Rag. Earn your patch by hiking summits close to home. Whether it’s the big hill at the elementary school or a local park trail that gains a bit of elevation or a mountain in your backyard national/state park — take on a summit and earn the Virginia Skyline Summit patch!
The Virginia Skyline Summit patch can be earned from March 31-October 31, 2015. You may hike any summit in your own community, at a state park or national park, on the Appalachian Trail or anywhere outside that has somewhere to climb a bit of elevation.
