green hat society

The Green Hat Society is comprised of “seasoned” Girl Scout alumnae (50 years and older) who have a love of the out-of-doors. They may be currently active as leaders and community facilitators or may have come out of retirement with a “second wind” for Girl Scouting. This service corps promotes outdoor fun within the Girl Scouting program by providing assistance in planning, implementing and staffing outdoor events. They work closely with the Friends of Sacajawea, Icimani, and Sugar Hollow by planning annual service projects to benefit the council-owned camp properties. The Green Hat Society is charged with hosting the annual Reunion Campfire at rotating camp properties.

When asked what the girls should do, Juliette responded “What do the girls WANT to do?” ~ Juliette Gordon Low
