Girls will complete a lap-sized patchwork quilt. The design is a fun, no-fail design called “Liberty Stars”. As soon as everyone arrives, we will have a show-and-tell and demonstration of the techniques that will be used to make our quilt. Then we will go to a local fabric shop, hopefully have a lesson on fabrics and quilting from a “pro”, and pick out our fabric. Upon returning to Camp Sacajawea, the sewing will begin! Prior sewing experience is not necessary. If the sky is clear, we can do a little outdoor stargazing. We will also watch the movie “How to Make an American Quilt”.
Participants may attend as individuals only.

Note: Girls should bring clothing for the weekend. Most activities will be indoors, but we will try to get outside some, so bring some warmer clothing for outdoors. Bring comfy indoor clothes and shoes (fuzzy slippers) to sew in. Other items to bring: pillow, sleeping bag/sheets and blanket, toiletries and a camera. If you have a sewing machine, rotary cutter (looks like a super sharp pizza cutter), scissors, or cutting mat, let me know!
