Annual Meeting Registration (online)
Annual Meeting Registration (paper)

The GSVSC Annual Meeting is a time to join members together to: do the business of the council; socialize and share our common goals and successes; and network by age-levels, geographical location and program interest. AND HAVE FUN! Girl Scouts work together and play together!

SEE BELOW FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE ANNUAL MEETING.

Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council (GSVSC) bylaws provides for the election of operational unit (Girl Scout service unit) and at-large delegates. A huge "Thank You" goes out to all who take time to vote and to provide valuable input to our GSVSC Board of Directors. Delegates attend our council's annual meeting, vote on any amendments to our council bylaws and elect the board, the board development committee and, every three years, elect our national council delegates (application here) and alternate delegates to the Girl Scouts of the USA National Council Meeting. Click Here to view Delegate Position Description (#1608). GSVSC Delegate/Alternate Delegate training is done through a Delegate Self Study (#1358).

Each operational unit is entitled to elect two delegates who are members 14 years of age or older. If the unit has girl membership in excess of 200 girls as of March 1, they may elect one additional delegate for each 100 girls over the initial 200 girls. Remaining nominees may be elected to serve as alternate delegates. The board of directors, through the GSVSC Membership Voice Committee, notifies operational units in March regarding election procedures and the number of delegates they can elect. View each operational unit's delegate count for the 2017-2018 year.

The following board of directors approved at-large groups may elect two delegates from their group: Adventurers, Alumnae, Camp Administrators and Council Trainers. Get more information on at-large delegates here.

Open Council Dialogue Meetings

Each year, Girl Scouts of VA Skyline hosts Open Council Dialogue meetings in the fall to garner feedback from the membership on governance issues. All members 14 years of age and older are welcome to attend these meetings, however if you want to serve as a delegate or alternate delegate you must attend one of these meetings. Elections can take place beginning in the spring and must be completed and reported to the GSVSC office no later than November 27, 2017. Each meeting has the same agenda for discussion.

The GSVSC Membership Voice Committee in conjunction with the GSVSC Board of Directors facilitates these meetings. All meetings will start at 9:45 AM and conclude by 12:00 PM. There are four meetings scheduled throughout the council. In addition, a conference call is scheduled if you cannot make one of the in-person meetings. Each meeting has the same agenda for discussion.
