If you’ve ever thought of volunteering for or enrolling your daughter in the Girl Scouts, then now is the perfect time to participate. Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline is putting out a call to the community for both adult volunteers and girls to sign-up.

Open houses are designed for potential Girl Scouts and volunteers to learn more about the organization, its mission, the time commitment and what it means to join Girl Scouts. Registration will be available for all interested parties. Current volunteers and staff will be available to answer questions.

You probably know that Girl Scouts earn badges, make crafts, go camping, and sell cookies, but they also do a whole lot more. They participate in community service projects that help improve their neighborhoods, schools and the planet; take part in outdoors activities such as kayaking, climbing and hiking; and partake in science fun like stargazing, CSI and vet science.

Girl Scouting is open to all girls regardless of race, creed, ethnic origin, or physical or mental ability. Scholarships are available to assist with the membership fee ($22).

SNOW DATE JANUARY 31

Can’t make the open house?
You can still join Girl Scouts at any time. Contact Elisabeth Buckley, 540-910-0240 or ebuckley@gsvsc.org, and she will get you involved in Girl Scouting.
