Girl Scout Hike of the Month
Does your New Year's resolution include GOING OUTSIDE? We want to help you get outside, get motivated to move, and appreciate the Roanoke Valley's natural resources! The goal is to hike to McAfee Knob by December 2019! You, your family, and friends are invited to join Girl Scouts and participate in the Girl Scout Hike of the Month outdoor program series within the Roanoke Valley. Hike ALL or any of the hikes.
All participants must register for each hike to receive the hike's meetup location and time.
Advance registration for each hike will allow hike leader to ensure required girl-to-adult ratios.
Girl Scout Membership Requirements for Participation in Hiking Series
Friends and family are welcome. All girls in grades K-12 must be a registered Girl Scout member prior to participation in hikes. Persons age 18 or older must also be Girl Scout members and have an approved, background check on file with council prior to participation. Girls ages 0-Pre-K and males ages 0-18 (tagalongs/siblings) not eligible for Girl Scout membership may participate in hikes and will be covered under Girl Scout activity insurance.
Participants may attend as individuals with a guardian/parent/adult or with troops that provide the appropriate number of leaders and adult chaperones needed to meet the girl-to-adult ratios for their age-level. Guardian/parent/adult chaperones and troop leaders are required to stay during the entire program.
