Disability Awareness Program/Movie Event
This awareness program will teach the girls that even if you have a disbility you can not let it stop you; if you do have a disability, you have help and people to support you. We will watch the movie Temple Grandin. Temple Grandin is a 2010 American biographical drama film directed by Mick Jackson and starring Claire Danes as Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who revolutionized practices for the humane handling of livestock on cattle ranches and slaughterhouses. This movie won 10+ awards from the Emmy Awards to Golden Globes. A discussion will take place after the movie. Popcorn and drinks will be served.
Participants may attend as individuals (with sponsor/adult/parent) or troops (with appropriate # of leaders/adults). Parent/guardian or leader will need to stay during the program.
