Girls will embark on their STEM Outdoor Journey and learn what it means to be a citizen scientist. Girls will begin by using their observation skills on a nature hike through Wildwood Park and recording those observations in their field notebooks. They will learn about the water cycle and the health of our aquatic environments while looking at the different organisms found in a stream. They will immediately use what they have learned to collect data on the creek running through Wildwood Park. Once the girls have collected the data using water quality testing kits, they will analyze what they have found. Each girl will walk away with the Think Like a Citizen Scientist badge and be ready to hit the ground running with their Take Action Project.

Participants may attend as individuals with a guardian/parent/adult or with troops that provide the appropriate number of leaders and adult chaperones needed to meet the girl-to-adult ratios for their age-level. Guardian/parent/adult chaperones and troop leaders are required to stay during the entire program.
