Richmond Holiday Spectacular
Celebrate the holiday season in Richmond, the capital of Virginia!
The tentative schedule includes visits to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, Maymont Mansion, and the Governor's Mansion. There may even be a detour to see some of Richmond's tacky neighborhood Christmas lights displays. Saturday afternoon and evening will be spent at WinterFest at King's Dominion. Finally, what would the holiday season be like without a bit of shopping? The group will spend 5-6 hours on Sunday at Short Pump Town Center looking for some gifts for friends and family.
Lodging will be at Pamunkey Ridge Girl Scout Camp in a heated building with mattresses on the floor. Everyone will need to bring their own pillow and sleeping bag. Bathhouses with toilets and showers will be available for the group's use. We will fix our own breakfasts and pack our lunch for Saturday.
Cost is all-inclusive except for two meals. Participants will need to bring money to buy supper on Friday and lunch on Sunday.
The group will travel by car with girl pickup stops along the I-81 and I-64 corridor. The tentative transportation schedule is as follows:
- Pick-Up on Friday: Roanoke 2 PM, Lexington 2:45 PM, Charlottesville 3:45 PM
- Drop-Off on Sunday: Charlottesville 3:45 PM, Lexington 4:45 PM and Roanoke 5 PM
