Float Your Boat Series 2019: New River Rendezvous

An 8.5 mile intermediate-level kayaking trip in Giles County. This stretch consists of Class I & II rapids and white water ledges. Previous experience paddling on moving water is required to participate in this event. All participants must be able to swim. Led by paddle-experienced Girl Scout leaders with the Adventurers program.

Date: you can pick from two dates: Saturday, August 3, or Sunday, August 4
Time: 10 AM-4 PM (may fluctuate slightly)
Location: New River in Giles County (Ripplemead to Bluff City both days)

Girl Fee: $20/girl
Adult Fee: $20/adult (if space is available)

Patches: optional Adventurers patch available for $2; optional Adventurers t-shirt available for $12; optional Adventurers bandanna for $5 (please indicate items and sizes on registration).

NOTE: Adults will only be accepted if spaces available are not filled by girls, and only with paddling experience. Please let us know on registration if you will be bringing your own boat and PFD; this is encouraged if you are more comfortable in your own gear. All adults participating must be registered Girl Scouts and background checked. There is a 275 lb. weight limitation recognized for kayaks.

Adventurers is an action-oriented group of older Girl Scouts who are seeking exciting activities to challenge their capabilities, broaden their horizons, and increase their self-confidence. It is for girls age 11-17 and in grades 6-12.
