At-Large Adults
If you are not connected with a troop or group within a service unit and are an
adult member, you have the opportunity to be a member of
an at-large group for the purpose of electing delegates to represent your
at-large group at council meetings.
In order to register as a
member of an at-large group so that you can nominate and/or vote for delegates
to represent your group, click here to
register. The deadline is October 1.
Do
you want to be a delegate or know someone who wants to represent your group?
The by-laws require the following:
- A
quorum needs to be met for delegate elections. (A quorum consists of
at least 5 members representing at least 10% of the registered
at-large group.)
At-large delegate and substitute delegate responsibilities and duties (Delegate or Substitute)
Dates of important meetings:
- Each
delegate is required to attend the Annual Meeting on January 30, 2010,
at the Salem Civic Center.
- Delegate
training will be available to those who were not trained in the last
two years.
- Delegate training will be available at 9:00 AM at each
Decision Influencing Meeting
- Each
delegate is required to attend a minimum of one Decision Influencing
Meeting per registration year.
- All
times will be 10:00 AM registration with 10:30 – 12:00 for the
meetings.
- A delegate may attend any of the meetings in any area. The
2009 meetings are as follows:
October 17, 2009 at Fort Hill United Methodist Church, 106
Oakridge Blvd, Lynchburg VA
November 7, 2009 at Weyers Cave
Community Center, 682 Weyers Cave Rd, Weyers Cave VA
December 5, 2009 at Blacksburg United Methodist
Church, Whisner Building, 111 Church St. SE,
Blacksburg VA
Installation
will occur at the first Decision Influencing Meeting that a delegate
or substitute delegate attends.
If you would like to be a delegate or substitute delegate representing
all the adults in your geographical group, please contact Holli Drewry to nominate yourself or another adult who is a registered member of your
at-large adult group by October 1 or complete the appropriate form and submit by October 1. She will contact you with additional election information.
