COOKIE SALE BEGINS JAN. 1, 2015
Welcome GS Community Cookie Team!
Thanks to our Girl Scout communities/service units, the cookie sale runs smoothly for girls and their troops. You play a big supporting role in the largest girl-led business in the world! A troop receives 63 cents/box of cookies sold and an additional two cents bonus when their troop averages 155 boxes per girl. Direct proceeds to troops in Virginia Skyline Council totaled $565,000 last year! Thanks for all your hard work & dedication.
NEW THIS YEAR: Cookie Share
Cookie Share is a Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline council-wide service project that allows girls the opportunity to sell virtual “Cookie Share” packages. Cookie Share cookies are distributed to the military and local food banks. The council delivers the products to the organizations directly from the bakery or from one of our warehouses. This gives customers an alternative to not buying for themselves or purchasing an extra box to share.
National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend 2015!
Fri., Feb. 27 – Sun., Mar. 1
On this weekend, Girl Scouts across the nation will band together to speak as a single, powerful voice to raise awareness of the Girl Scout Cookie Program and to drive cookie sales. Make sure you have a cookie booth somewhere in a well-traveled or well-visited location on this weekend. There’s also a National GS Cookie Weekend Patch too! Available through The Skyline Shop.
PR Cookies Available
This year we received over 800 boxes of cookies to use in our PR efforts — thank-you’s to delivery station hosts, local media pitches, big community collaborators, etc. We ordered lots of Thin Mints and Thanks-A-Lots; and have fair amounts of Carmel deLites, Shortbreads, Lemondades, PB Patties, PB Sandwiches and the new gluten-free cookie, Trios. Also free PR bags and cookie sale flyers are available as well. Samplers are not being offered this year. PR cookies will be delivered to you by field staff at your service unit/GS community meetings. If you have a specific PR cookies request, please contact your field staff member who will attend your next meeting.
