Join us at Icimani Adventure Center. Girls will make new friends, sing, play games, learn about nature, create arts and crafts projects, take hikes, explore the creek, cook out, participate in program activities with girls from other units, and spend the night on June 25. All campers in grades 2-6 can earn a special camp patch if they participate in prescribed activities at camp.  Trained leaders help girls carry out their activities.

Icimani Adventure Center is located at 5488 Yellow Mountain Road, Roanoke, VA 24014. Yellow Mountain Road intersects Rt. 220 approximately 1 mile south of Clearbrook School. Icimani Adventure Center is ½ mile from that intersection.

Campers’ Ages
Girls in grades 2-11 in the 2008-2009 school year

Adventure unit:
Adventure Caravan (grade 6 and above)
Have fun doing something different and adventurous. You might explore a cave, go canoeing, take a bike outing, or go on an extended hike. Experienced instructors will help you learn; your efforts can be applied to earning an Interest Project patch or a special camp patch. Campers participating in Adventure Caravan might have some activities that involve returning to the program center later than 4 p.m. Limit: 16 girls.

Camp leadership programs:
Camp Program Assistant (CPA) (grade 7 and above)
This program is for girls who want to help younger campers. CPAs assist leaders in carrying out camp program in the units and help with all-camp activities and projects. An orientation for all girls accepted in this program will be given on May 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Icimani Adventure Center. Application must be made before registering for this program. Space is very limited.

Counselor Apprentice (CA) (grade 8 and above)
To be a CA, a girl must: (1) apply for and complete the council CA course; (2) register for camp and attend the camp staff planning session on May 2 at Icimani Adventure Center; (3) give service at camp.

Junior Counselor (grade 10 and above)
A girl can apply to be a Junior Counselor if she has previous camp leadership experience. Junior Counselors must register for camp and attend the camp staff planning session on May 2 at Icimani Adventure Center.

Cost
NEW: All camp fees include a t-shirt.  Please indicate size on registration form.  You must register by May 22 to receive a t-shirt. Girls will need to bring their own lunches and drinks.

Register before May 1 for a $15 camp fee discount.

Overnight?
June 25 for all girls

Transportation
Parents are responsible for their daughters’ transportation to and from Icimani Adventure Center. Parents are encouraged to form carpools with other campers in the area or their troop.

Refund/Cancellation Policy
$20 of the camp fee is nonrefundable. Refunds are made only when a request is made in writing by the parent/guardian and received by the camp director no later than one week prior to the start of camp
