Reality Check — Be Beautiful is a campaign about self-esteem, media literacy, and today’s technology to help girls understand how their own story is as important and exciting as those on reality TV. James Madison University’s Panhellenic Council is presenting a program called the Be Beautiful Campaign in support of inner beauty. This Girl Scout Workshop will be a part of their year-long Be Beautiful Campaign. This will be focused on body image and inner beauty. They will be discussing the media and how the media portrays unrealistic expectations of women in society. The objectives are for young women to develop a realistic definition of beauty and for women to recognize that individuality makes everyone beautiful. At the workshop, girls will be doing different activities in break-out sessions that focus on these objectives. Portions of these sessions can be credited towards the It’s Your Story – Tell It Leadership Journeys.
Participants may attend as individuals or troops.
