Have you ever thought about what it would be like to work in a medical profession? This is your opportunity to explore the options! This is your chance to speak directly with doctors and nurses to see what it takes to be a medical professional. Test your skills and abilities during this medical/health camp. At camp you will take a trip to Lynchburg General Hospital to learn about a typical day from medical personnel. We will also include a hands-on First Aid, CPR and AED class!!

Overnight?
Thursday night is an optional overnight. Thursday night’s dinner as well as Friday’s breakfast and lunch will be provided. Girls who do not stay overnight can be picked up Thursday afternoon and dropped off Friday morning at the regular times.

 

Campers’ Ages
Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors (girls in grades 4–11 in the 2012-13 school year) may attend as campers. Girls who have completed 8th grade or higher may apply to be a Counselor-in-Training.

 

Camp Leadership Programs
Counselor-in-Training (CIT) (grades 8 and up) (formerly known as Counselor Apprentice) Older girls may apply to become a CIT. They must complete a CIT application and attend GSVSC’s CIT training. Check GSVSC’s online event calendar for more information.

$125 Camp fee, days only
$150 Camp fee, days and Thursday overnight
$50 Camp fee, Counselors-in-Training
$12 Membership fee for non-Girl Scouts

Transportation
Parents/guardians are responsible for their daughters’ transportation to and from camp. Parents are encouraged to form carpools with other campers in the area or with their troop.

GSVSC Cancellation Policy applies to this camp.

 

Note
Girls should bring a bag lunch each day, as well as a water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray. Closed toe shoes are mandatory. Please wear a hat/sun visor, and label everything with your name. Parents may wish to send a spare set of clothes, in a labeled bag, to leave at camp for the week. Weather permitting, we will wade in Judith Creek daily, so please bring water shoes too!
