Love your planet. Love your world. Love yourself. During our visit with Lynchburg Grows, we will not only learn about organic, hydroponic and aqua gardening, but we will also make our own salad for lunch from fresh ingredients on site. To show a big Girl Scout thank-you to Lynchburg Grows and our community, we will be helping them with an on-site service project after lunch.
During another “Go Green” camp day, we will be joining the environmental educators from Lynchburg College’s Claytor Nature Study Center. They will help us perform an on-site stream investigation and sensory exploration. You will absolutely love wearing hip waders and seining the creek for teeny-tiny water creatures! Then we will look at them under a magnifying glass, identify and classify them, and release them to return to their watery home in the creek.
