Come get blasted with color, as the Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council partner with the Morrison Bruce Center to promote physical activity for girls and women. Girl Scouts and their families are especially invited to participate by walking, dashing or running for fun and health! The mission of both the Girl Scouts and the Morrison Bruce Center is to promote physical activity – therefore they are offering a special discount for Girl Scouts.
This run benefits the Morrison Bruce Center for the Promotion of Physical Activity for Girls and Women. Girl Scouts will not be asked to raise monies or solicit funds on behalf of the MBC. At several points during the run/walk you’ll be showered with a bright powdered color (completely edible and non-toxic). Please note: this event will not be timed and we want it to be all about the fun of being active! After the event, join the Morrison Bruce Center Expo festivities to learn more about healthy lifestyles and taking care of ourselves. The MBC develops and provides physical activity programming for girls and women and conducts research to enhance the understanding of the impact of an active lifestyle on women’s health. Working closely with Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council we find similarities between the goals of the center and those of the Healthy Habits addendum to our Journeys. This includes providing programming that enhances the physical activity levels of girls and women while having a blast of fun! Girl Scout participants will receive a special t-shirt* and patch commemorating the event, while all other participants will receive a box of Girl Scout cookies with their t-shirts.
*Girl Scouts who register by March 28th will be guaranteed a specially colored shirt only for Girl Scouts! Any other participants who register by this deadline will be guaranteed a regular race t-shirt in their size. Anyone (Girl Scout or not) will be given a regular race shirt on a first-come, first-serve basis, while supplies last.
Participants may attend as individuals (with sponsor/adult/parent) or troops (with appropriate number of leaders/adults). Parent/guardian or leader will need to stay during the program.
