For almost 100 years Girl Scouts have been helping girls discover their self potential. Did you know that 70% of women in the U.S. Congress were Girl Scouts? They’re not alone. About 69% of women executives and leaders have participated in Girl Scouts.

Girl Scouts has designed age – appropriate programs that meet the needs of today’s girls.
The goals of Girl Scout programs are to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. The model is based on three principles:

• Girls discover their world and their own potential and strengthen their values
• Girls connect with others through caring relationships and team building
• Girls become empowered to take action and be advocates for themselves and others
• Girls may participate in Girl Scout troops, interest groups or as an Individual Girl Scout.

Membership

Girl Scouting is open to all girls between the grades of kindergarten and 12th grade who accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law and adults over the age of 18 who accept the organizations principles and beliefs as stated in the Preamble of the Constitution of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Annual membership dues are $12.00 for both girls and adults.

All Members:

• Share the Girl Scout Promise and Law
• Follow safety guidelines
• Pay annual membership dues of $12. Dues enable girls to enjoy every aspect of the Girl Scout program. Additional fees for individual events may apply. Financial assistance for membership dues and special activities is available.
• Girl Scouts may also choose to purchase uniforms, insignia and books to enhance their
  Girl Scouting experience.
